TAMIYA 1/35 MM Series No.318 Finnish Army Assault Gun BT-42. TMM318BT42 released in August 2016
[Product introduction]
TAMIYA 1/35 MM series No.318 Finnish assault gun BT-42. During World War II, the Finnish army utilized captured Soviet tanks as an important fighting force for its own army. Among them, the BT-42 was the only one that underwent unique modifications in Finland and was reborn as an assault gun. It is based on the 1937 model, a late type of BT-7, and features a huge box-shaped overhang on the turret in order to replace the main gun with a British-made 114mm howitzer. 18 vehicles were produced from 1943 to 1944 and used to attack Soviet defensive positions. In addition, during the Soviet army's major offensive in June 1944, it fought bravely against Soviet tanks in the defense of the base city of Vipuri. The turret form, which changes its appearance depending on the angle around the turret, is faithfully reproduced based on interviews with actual vehicles. The rear gate can be opened or closed, and the breech is also made into parts. The details of the car body, such as the front fender, which is shorter than the BT-7 on the upper part of the car body, the large miscellaneous goods box added on the side fenders, and the jack, are completely reproduced. Figure/Photo-etched parts The mantlet side version and engine louver cover are photo-etched parts with a sharp finish. Includes one passenger figure in a standing pose. Overall length: 157mm Overall width: 67mm The unique appearance of a combination of a light body and a large turret is modeled with a high sense of reality through actual vehicle coverage. The main gun's perforated muzzle brake is also faithfully reproduced using a slide mold. Parts for the main gun loading section are also included. The shortened front fender, miscellaneous goods box, jack, etc. are also delicately finished. The tracks and drive sprocket are the same type as the actual vehicle, and are the same type as the BT-7 1937 model. One crew figure, The turret rear gate with 3 types of decals can be opened or closed, and the main gun loading section is also made into parts. The track is a connected assembly type that integrates the straight parts. The curved engine louver cover and other parts have a sharp finish with photo-etched parts. We also prepared a jig for bending. There are 3 types of decals. You can choose between a single-color field gray paint job, a unique three-color camouflage, and a vehicle with the roundel nationality mark of the post-war Finnish army.
