旧型21mmの中古なら3万弱と半額近い値段で手に入るのでかなり悩みました。ただ各所のレビューにてHDの方が明らかに画質が向上していると書かれているので結局こちらを購入。APS-Cで21mm(換算32mmくらい)なので18mm(換算28mm)ほど広くなく、街中でスナップを取るのに使いやすいです。大自然を撮るならもっと広角でもいいですが、街中や観光地で振り回すにはこのくらいの画角が使いやすいですね。単焦点としては明るさがイマイチですが、F5.6～8辺りでスナップを撮るにはなかなか使い勝手の良いレンズです。20cmまで寄れるので散歩中に見つけた花をパパっと撮ることも出来ますし。収差は少しありますが今どきは電子的に補正できるので、まあOKでしょう。欠点はやはり単焦点としては暗い点と古臭いDCモーター作動な点でしょうか。あとはエントリーモデルにも防塵防滴を採用しているPENTAXなので、このレンズにも防塵防滴も付けて欲しかったですね。この辺はリニューアルでは限度があるでしょうし、新規リミテッドレンズの登場に期待します。
