The latest optical design and the use of multiple high-performance lenses effectively correct various aberrations while ensuring sufficient peripheral illumination. It fully demonstrates the capabilities of PENTAX 35mm full-frame SLR cameras, producing ultra-high-resolution images. The lens construction of 15 elements in 11 groups features two high-precision aspherical lenses, one extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element, and one anomalous dispersion glass element, which effectively reduces chromatic aberrations. This ensures clear imaging with minimal spherical and chromatic aberrations. The optical design also delivers high resolution for precise imaging, ensuring compatibility with large, high-pixel image sensors. The lens utilizes a proprietary, high-performance multi-coating, HD Coating, which enhances imaging performance. Compared to conventional multi-coatings, this coating offers lower reflection and higher transmittance, reducing ghosting and flare even in challenging lighting conditions, such as backlighting, for high-contrast, clear images. Quick-shift Focus System: After achieving autofocus, the Quick-shift Focus System allows manual focusing without the need for manual operation. Weather-resistant: Eight seals throughout the lens prevent water from entering the interior. When combined with a PENTAX digital SLR body that features a weather-resistant construction, reliability is improved even in rainy or foggy weather, or in places where water splashes.
