The 4-car set reproduces the leading car of the 700 series, which has two doors, cross seats, black windows, and blue side stripes. Each leading car reproduces the front with no step above the through door. The 4-car set reproduces the leading car roof with the signal flare blocked. The lightning arrester on the roof reproduces the shape seen in recent years. The underfloor equipment also reproduces the electric air compressor, which has a different shape from the conventional one. The fall prevention hood is reproduced with a separate part. Two types are available: one for the leading car that emphasizes appearance, and one for when coupled. The use of a slotless motor achieves smooth and quiet running. The 4-car set is not equipped with traction tires in consideration of coupled operation. Each car is equipped with a body-mounted KATO close-coupled type coupler (without hook). An electric coupler (1 stage) is included for the leading part. Head/tail lights, front display lights up and white LEDs are used (with switch to turn off). Each car has the front display "A New Rapid Himeji" already installed. The 4-car set comes with the "A-class rapid service Yasu" as a replacement, and the 8-car set comes with the "A-class rapid service Maibara" and "B-class rapid service Omi-imazu". *The model train is powered by the rails.
