A plastic model that requires assembly and painting. Separate tools, paint, etc. are required.
Product introduction 1/48 scale plastic model. The P-38 Lightning has a unique twin-hulled, twin-engine style, making it unique among American fighter aircraft during World War II. On February 11, 1939, a record flight was made to cross the North American continent from the west coast to the east coast, but the aircraft failed to make a landing approach at Mitchell Field in New York, ran off the runway and was destroyed. Ta. However, during this flight, the plane reached a maximum speed of 676 km/h with a tailwind, and the pilot was safe, so Lockheed received an order for 13 YP-38s shortly after the accident. At first, the critical mass production system was not in place, and the first YP-38 made its first flight on September 7, 1940. The full-scale mass-produced E type discontinued the previous 37mm gun, and a 20mm M1 machine gun and four 12.7mm machine guns were combined in the nose, which became the basis of the P-38 series, followed by the F, G, and H types. In the J model, the problem of engine cooling was also solved by moving the intercooler to just behind the propeller under the engine nacelle. Thanks to a new cooling system, the P-38J was able to use the same V-1710-89/91 engine as the P-38H with an emergency output of 1600hp (at an altitude of 8077mm). The P-38J-25 and later models use electric swoop flaps to eliminate buffet (vibration of the aircraft caused by turbulent airflow) that affects the tail. The direction of the airflow was changed to prevent this airflow from hitting the tail. (From Discovery Japan Mall) Safety Warning Not applicable
