[Product introduction]
HASEGAWA 1/72 F-104S/F-104G Starfighter (Italy/West German Air Force). The F-104 is an aircraft developed as a supersonic air superiority fighter. At the time, the F-104 was said to be the last manned fighter aircraft, with a small and lightweight aircraft equipped with a large thrust engine and a maximum speed of Mach 2. However, the U.S. Air Force's policy subsequently changed and the F-104, which was too small to carry data links, was deployed in small numbers. However, the F-104G, which had all new electronic equipment, including the fire control system, and a larger vertical stabilizer and rudder, was produced jointly in Europe, as well as by Lockheed and Canadair, and used in NATO countries. Ta. In addition, the F-104S, developed at the request of the Italian Air Force, was replaced with a J79-GE-19 engine with a thrust of 5380 kg (8120 kg when using A/B), was able to be equipped with an AIM-7 Sparrow, and changed its radar to an R-21G. At the same time, we increased the all-weather interception ability, and at the same time installed nine hard points to increase the amount of external weapons carried and strengthen the ground attack power. The F-104J and F-104DJ, used by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, were returned to the United States in 1985 and then given to Taiwan.
