HASEGAWA 1/72 aircraft series Mitsubishi F-2A/B. HE15F2AB Released in February 2021
[Product introduction]
HASEGAWA 1/72 aircraft series Mitsubishi F-2A/B. The Mitsubishi F-2 is a support jet fighter for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force. This machine is available in single-seat A type and two-seat B type, and the two-seat type is mainly used for education and training. The Air Self-Defense Force's threat to fighters and bombers is the F-15J interceptor fighter. Although threats such as ships and tanks have been defended by F-1 support fighters, the F-1 has begun to be retired due to aging. The F-2 is a jointly developed aircraft between Japan and the United States as a successor to the F-1. This aircraft, called FS-X at the time of its development, is based on the F-16 and has a design that makes full use of today's latest technology. Its external features include a fuselage and main wings that are slightly larger than the F-16, a larger radome to accommodate the new radar, and a three-part canopy to prevent bird strikes (collisions with birds) when flying at low altitudes. Japan's world-class carbon-based composite material is used in the main wings and other parts of the aircraft, reducing the weight of the aircraft. In addition, CCV technology that reflects the experimental results of the T-2CCV aircraft has been introduced, and the first fly-by-wire side stick has been adopted in an Air Self-Defense Force aircraft, achieving safe and excellent flight performance. Onboard weapons include air-to-air missiles, anti-ship missiles (domestically produced ASM-2, etc.), various bombs, and additional tanks at 11 stations on the main wings and fuselage. Deployment of units began in April 2001 with the 3rd Squadron at Misawa Air Base, and from now on, the Japan Air Self-Defense Force will deploy F-2s in place of the remaining F-1s and F-4EJ Kais. Together with the -15J interceptor fighter, we will protect Japan's skies in the 21st century.
