[Scale] 1/700
The well-balanced second ship of the Shokaku-class, one of the largest aircraft carriers of the Imperial Japanese Navy, is now available in a standard STD version and a PLUS version with additional parts! The standard version (STD) includes additional precision fitting parts, and the Zero-type reconnaissance seaplane/searchlight is made of clear plastic for added realism. This product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing, assembly, and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and it is a waterline model that does not include the hull.
This product is made using conventional (special series) molds.
The Shokaku-class aircraft carriers were planned under the same Maru 3 plan as the battleship Yamato-class, and the second ship, "Zuikaku," was completed at Kawasaki Heavy Industries in Kobe in September 1941, before the start of the Pacific War.
Together with the lead ship "Shokaku," it formed the 5th Carrier Division and participated in the attack on Pearl Harbor.
The Battle of the Coral Sea marked the first ever naval battle between aircraft carriers.
With the loss of the Akagi and three other ships, which were the mainstays of the air force, the Zuikaku remained a central force in the carrier task force until the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October 1944, but was sunk by American air attacks during that battle.
This model replicates the dimensions of the actual 10-width, 6-width, and 3-width aircraft in 1/700 scale. It includes decals for aircraft markings, two decal sheets for the stern name, white lines for the aft mast, and waterline markings. The stern name comes in two variations: gold and solid battleship gray. [Contents] 54 sprues, 3 instruction manuals, 4 decals. The finished model measures approximately 370 x 59 x 48 mm (length x width x height). [Design/Mold Development Dates] Shokaku main body: 2011, 2-piece machine gun parts: 2018, Additional fittings parts: 2021. *This product is made in Japan.
*This product is a plastic model kit that requires assembly.
