The turret with a howitzer with a characteristic protective sleeve is reproduced with a reduced number of parts for the internal sight and loading section. The M8 was developed by the US military as a vehicle to replace the self-propelled howitzer.
An open-top turret is mounted on the body based on the M5 light tank, and the main gun is a 75mm howitzer M3 that can fire anti-tank high-explosive and smoke grenades in addition to normal high-explosive shells.
1778 vehicles produced from September 1942 to January 1944
Widely deployed in Italy, Northwestern Europe, and the Pacific Theater, the M8 takes advantage of its superior firepower and high mobility to take on defensive bases.
