The Superliner passenger cars of Amtrak, the American railroad passenger transport corporation, are a general term for double-decker passenger cars that have been manufactured since 1979 and are characterized by their well-proportioned and beautiful formation. They employ a bi-level structure with the main passenger compartment and corridor on the second floor and entrances, toilets, and shower rooms on the first floor. With the introduction of the Superliner, Amtrak passenger cars, which until then had mostly consisted of vehicles inherited from the old road names, were suddenly standardized. Inheriting the names of legendary trains such as the Empire Builder, California Zephyr, and Chief, it continues to operate on transcontinental routes today.
