The 20mm telephoto end (30mm equivalent in 35mm format) is ideal for everyday snapshots and commemorative shots, while the 11mm wide-angle end (16.5mm equivalent in 35mm format) allows for impressive ultra-wide-angle shots. The Model B060 is surprisingly compact and lightweight for a large-aperture f/2.8 ultra-wide-angle zoom, measuring just 86.2mm long and weighing just 335g. Even when paired with an APS-C mirrorless camera body, you can enjoy agility and ease of shooting without being hindered by its size or weight. This makes it ideal for both still photography and video recording using a small tripod or gimbal.
Superior optical performance: The Model B060's lens construction consists of 12 elements in 10 groups. Two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lens elements are well-balanced to maintain high resolution across the entire frame, from the center to the edges. The use of one XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion) lens element and two LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements, made from special glass materials, effectively corrects various aberrations for clear image quality. Furthermore, the lens is equipped with BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating, which further minimizes ghosting and flare, enabling precise rendering of subject details even in backlit conditions. The result is stunning clarity and sharpness. A minimum focusing distance of 0.15m on the wide-angle side. The Model B060 achieves a minimum focusing distance (0.15m at the wide-angle end, 0.24m at the telephoto end) at the wide-angle end, significantly exceeding the close-up shooting capabilities of conventional ultra-wide-angle zoom lenses. The maximum magnification ratio is an astonishing 1:4 at the wide-angle end, allowing you to take advantage of the unique perspective of ultra-wide-angle lenses for wide macro photography, and the bright maximum aperture of a large aperture for creating bokeh effects. The filter diameter is standardized to φ67mm, making the Model B060 and its predecessor, the Model B070, a large-aperture F2.8 standard zoom for Sony E-mount APS-C mirrorless cameras, weigh just 860g when combined. With a bright F2.8 aperture, the two lenses can cover a wide angle of view from 11mm to 70mm (equivalent to 16.5mm to 105mm in a 35mm film format), significantly reducing the size and weight of the entire system. Furthermore, the filter diameter is φ67mm, the same as many of Tamron's Sony E-mount lenses, so various filters, including PL and ND filters, as well as lens caps, can be used interchangeably.
