Contemporary Line: A new standard in optical performance. Because this is a compact lens for everyday use, we prioritize high optical performance. Built on the latest optical technology, the lens group, including five SLD glass elements, primarily suppresses axial chromatic aberration, which cannot be corrected by the camera. This delivers high resolution and clear image quality without color fringing. At the same time, by utilizing the camera's built-in optical correction capabilities, a benefit of mirrorless systems, we were able to focus on correcting aberrations that can only be addressed by the optical system, resulting in improved imaging performance and a smaller, lighter lens. Furthermore, the high-precision glass-molded aspherical lens element delivers both high resolution and beautiful bokeh. Enjoy the soft, colorless bokeh that only a full-frame lens can offer. With a minimum focusing distance of 50cm and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:5, it's ideal for close-up shots that highlight the subject. The AF drive system employs a quiet, high-speed stepping motor, making it ideal for both still and video photography.
High-Precision Glass-Molded Aspherical Lens The surface of the glass-molded mold, which is formed by pressing glass material at high temperatures, requires extremely high precision. Sigma uses high-precision molds that control the surface to within ±5 nanometers (0.000005 mm). The high-precision glass-molded aspherical lens element achieves both excellent correction of aberrations and a compact lens design.
I-Series Build Quality This lens features a metal exterior consistent with the I-Series. The machined aluminum parts are not only beautiful, but also contribute to the product's high quality, providing a solid, durable feel. In addition, the operating ring and the sliding internal structure are also made of metal. The high-precision parts, made possible by the advanced metalworking technology backed by the Sigma CINE LENS, professional lenses designed specifically for video, create an exquisite texture in each operating section that will make you want to use them again and again. Considering use in combination with the 24mm F3.5 DG | Contemporary and 45mm F2.8 DG | Contemporary, the filter size is the same φ55mm and maximum diameter is also the same φ64mm. Magnetic Metal Cap In addition to the standard plastic cap, I Series lenses come with a dedicated magnetic metal cap. This dedicated cap is magnetic and fits snugly onto the front of the lens.
