The Model A062 is the smallest and lightest* large-aperture standard zoom lens in its class, covering the 20-40mm range. Tamron's new large-aperture standard zoom lens, Model A062, is designed for easy portability and compactness. While maintaining a large aperture of F2.8 across the entire zoom range from 20mm to 40mm, it's also the smallest and lightest* in its class, measuring just 86.5mm long and weighing just 365g. The telephoto end covers a standard 40mm focal length, convenient for everyday use, such as snapshots, portraits, and tabletop shots. Meanwhile, the wide-angle end of 20mm allows for a wide range of photography, including spectacular, natural landscapes with a perspective that is impossible with conventional large-aperture standard zoom lenses starting at 24mm. *For Sony E-mount large-aperture zoom lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras. The lens construction of 12 elements in 11 groups combines high image quality with a compact body. The lens utilizes a generous selection of specialized glass materials, including four LD (Low Dispersion) lenses, two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lenses, and one composite lens, to achieve both high image quality and compact size throughout the entire zoom range. It also boasts the beautiful, soft bokeh and circular bokeh characteristic of a large f/2.8 aperture.
VXD technology delivers high-speed, high-precision AF. The AF drive employs a VXD linear motor focus mechanism. The high-speed, high-precision AF delivers exceptional responsiveness, enabling stress-free, comfortable focusing from the minimum focusing distance to infinity, even with a large aperture lens. Its excellent focus tracking performance on moving subjects ensures you won't miss a precious moment. The quiet operation of the motor makes it ideal for still photography and video recording in quiet environments.
A minimum focusing distance of 0.17m at the wide-angle end allows for wide macro shooting with a maximum magnification of 1:3.8.
