The world's first* F1.4 lens for APS-C cameras, achieving a 12mm focal length at a large F1.4 aperture. The ultra-wide 12mm focal length (equivalent to 18mm in 35mm format) captures every detail of the landscape before you. The dynamic angle of view and bright F1.4 aperture offer a high degree of expressive freedom even in low-light situations, such as nighttime street photography. The wide angle of view is also ideal for multi-person selfies and vlogging. It offers a wide range of creative expression, offering a high degree of freedom for both still images and video. *As an interchangeable lens for AF-compatible APS-C cameras. (As of August 2025, according to Sigma research)
Excellent optical performance across the entire frame: The strategic placement of three double-sided aspherical lenses and two SLD glass elements delivers superior optical performance even at the maximum aperture of F1.4. Sagittal coma flare is also effectively corrected, enabling clear images across the entire frame, even in starry sky photography, which demands exceptional image quality.
Compact and lightweight design for easy portability: The strategic placement of double-sided aspherical lenses allows for a compact and lightweight design, measuring just 69.4mm in length and weighing just 225g, despite being a large-aperture ultra-wide-angle lens. High portability makes it easy to take with you on trips and outdoor adventures. It also pairs perfectly with shooting grips and gimbals. Enjoy the dynamic expression unique to the 12mm F1.4 lens with ease.
Smooth autofocus with a stepping motor: The lightweight focus lens is driven by a precisely controlled stepping motor, achieving fast, high-precision AF. Whether shooting still images or video, you'll never miss a precious moment. It delivers excellent tracking performance, perfect for everyday photography and moving scenes, enabling high-quality video production.
Optical design with reduced focus breathing: The design minimizes focus breathing, minimizing changes in the angle of view caused by focusing, enabling natural-looking video with minimal changes in composition.
Equipped with an aperture ring: Intuitive aperture control. The Canon RF mount model is equipped with a control ring, allowing for customization according to user preferences.
Designed to minimize flare and ghosting: Flare and ghosting, which can degrade image quality, are addressed using cutting-edge simulation technology to address a wide range of incident light conditions. High backlight resistance ensures clear, crisp images in any lighting conditions.
Dust-proof and weather-resistant construction* - Water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating In addition to the dust-proof and weather-resistant construction, the front of the lens is coated with a water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating, allowing you to shoot with confidence even in harsh outdoor environments. *The construction is dust-proof and weather-resistant, but it is not waterproof. When using near water, be careful not to get large amounts of water on the camera. If water gets inside the camera, it may cause a malfunction.
