The world's first mirrorless camera lens to achieve a zoom ratio of approximately 18.8x, with a wide-angle end of 16mm. Covering a focal length of approximately 24-450mm* in 35mm format, this lens is perfect for a wide range of scenes, from dynamic landscapes with a wide angle of view to ultra-telephoto sports photography. *Approximately 25.6-480mm for Canon RF mount.
Maximum magnification of 1:2 at the 70mm focal length, enabling full-scale macro photography. At a focal length of 70mm, the lens achieves a maximum magnification of 1:2, enabling full-scale macro photography. With a maximum magnification of 1:3 at the wide-angle end and 1:4 at the telephoto end, this lens offers a wide zoom range, allowing for a wide range of creative expression.
Compact and Lightweight Design: While achieving an extremely wide zoom range from 16mm to 300mm, it's lightweight and compact, with a maximum diameter of 73.8mm, a total length of 121.4mm, and a weight of 615g.* The optimal combination of high-index glass lenses with high-to-low-tolerance and aspherical lenses ensures a 16mm wide-angle end and a compact design. *These figures are for the L-mount.
Linear Motor HLA: The AF actuator uses a linear motor HLA (High-response Linear Actuator). It delivers high-speed AF with excellent drive precision, ensuring you won't miss a single shutter opportunity. OS2 Image Stabilization Algorithm: The OS2 image stabilization algorithm achieves high image stabilization performance, with 6 stops of compensation at the wide-angle end and 4.5 stops at the telephoto end. Handheld shooting is possible without worrying about camera shake, even in dimly lit indoor scenes, at dusk, or at the telephoto end. Zoom Lock Switch (Wide-Angle) The zoom lock switch locks the zoom at the wide-angle end to prevent unintentional zoom movement due to camera weight. Dust- and Splash-Resistant Construction* and Water- and Dirt-Resistant Coating: In addition to its dust- and splash-resistant construction, the front lens element is coated with a water- and dirt-repellent coating, allowing for worry-free shooting even in harsh outdoor environments. *This construction is dust- and splash-resistant, but not waterproof. When using near water, avoid contact with large amounts of water. Water getting inside the lens may cause malfunction. Stable, High Optical Performance Across the Entire Zoom Range: High optical performance is pursued across the entire zoom range from 16mm to 300mm. The effective arrangement of one FLD glass element, four SLD glass elements, and four aspherical lenses effectively corrects various aberrations, delivering stable, high-performance throughout the entire zoom and focus range.
Designed to minimize flare and ghosting: To address image quality-degrading flare and ghosting, we have used cutting-edge simulation technology to address all types of incident light. High backlight resistance ensures clear, sharp images in any lighting conditions.
Designed to minimize focus breathing: The lens is designed to minimize focus breathing. There is minimal change in the angle of view caused by focus shifting throughout the entire zoom range, allowing for natural-looking focus shifts in video shooting.
