Built using the latest optical design technology, the 14-element lens in 11 groups features optimal placement of three aspherical lenses and one SLD glass element. This effectively suppresses aberrations, such as astigmatism and field curvature, that cannot be corrected by the camera's built-in functions. Despite its large F1.4 aperture, it delivers superior imaging performance at the periphery of the frame and minimizes sagittal coma flare, providing ample performance even at maximum aperture, even when capturing starry skies and nightscapes, which demand precise rendering of point light sources. In addition to clear, precise image quality with no color fringing across the entire frame, you can fully utilize the natural, large bokeh inherent to F1.4. The high-speed AF 50mm F1.4 DG DN | Art is the first lens in the Art line, specifically designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras, to feature a linear motor (HLA, High-response Linear Actuator), ensuring light and comfortable shooting. Furthermore, the focus lens uses a single double-sided aspherical lens, providing fast, quiet focusing and excellent tracking performance despite the large aperture.
