Released in August 2022
Art F1.4, 20mm. Introducing the ultimate starry sky lens. Mount: Leica Camera L-Mount standard. Focal length: 20mm. Maximum aperture: F1.4. Filter diameter: 82mm. Art Line / [20MMF14DGDNAL] 20MMF14DGDNAL Released in August 2022
SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG DN | Art sets a new standard for starry sky lenses, leveraging all of its technology to deliver the highest optical performance. The lens delivers outstanding imaging power, meeting the needs of professional and high-end users, who demand high-quality point image reproduction. The lens's 17-element, 15-group construction, including two SLD glass elements and three aspherical lenses, corrects various aberrations, achieving high point image reproduction even at an aperture of F1.4. The image is clear and highly uniform from center to periphery, with no blurring. In particular, SIGMA's largest double-sided aspherical lens thoroughly suppresses sagittal coma flare and field curvature, rendering every tiny star in every corner of the frame while making the most of the ultra-wide 20mm angle of view. This ultimate astrophotography lens was made possible thanks to the design know-how gained from producing a variety of large-aperture ultra-wide-angle and large-diameter lenses, including the SIGMA 20mm F1.4 DG HSM | Art, SIGMA 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art, and SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, as well as the high-precision processing technology boasted by SIGMA's only production facility, the Aizu Factory. Designed for harsh shooting environments, this lens's comprehensive specifications, including new functions, combined with SIGMA's high-precision manufacturing and processing technology and a design optimized for mirrorless cameras, now allow the attachment of front filters to large-aperture ultra-wide-angle lenses, something that was previously difficult to achieve. Furthermore, the included rear filter holder allows you to use front and rear filters depending on the shooting scene, or use them together, expanding the expressive range of this large-aperture ultra-wide-angle lens. Flexible filter setup, such as a light pollution filter on the front and a soft filter on the rear, is particularly useful for astrophotography. The newly added "MFL switch" allows you to concentrate on your photography without worrying about accidentally touching the focus ring and losing focus. The lens barrel also features a "lens heater retainer" to properly attach the lens heater, which prevents condensation from forming inside the lens when the temperature drops during nighttime astrophotography. The lens heater, which wraps around the lens barrel, protrudes to the front of the lens, preventing vignetting around the edges of the image. Taking advantage of the short flange focal distance, the compact and lightweight lens body is packed with features beyond its compact appearance, making it truly ideal for astrophotography. High usability and build quality, meticulously crafted down to the smallest detail. The lens body features a dust- and weather-resistant construction* with sealed joints and buttons. Furthermore, the front of the lens is coated with a water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating, allowing for safe use even in starry sky photography and other shooting environments. The aperture ring lock switch and MFL switch prevent unintentional operation, and the included flower-shaped hood with its locking mechanism and non-slip rubber parts ensure reliable operation in any shooting scene. The aperture ring click switch allows you to turn the aperture ring click on and off, allowing you to enjoy the click sound and feel, as well as smooth aperture adjustment during video shooting, all with just one lens. With durability that can withstand professional use, a pleasant feel for each control, and uncompromising attention to detail in every accessory, the SIGMA Art F1.4 series boasts the high build quality required for photography, down to the finest details. *The lens is dust- and splash-proof, and can be used in light rain, but is not waterproof. [Accessories] - Case - Petal-shaped hood with lock (LH878-04) - Front cap (LCF-82 III) - Rear cap (LCR II) - Guide plate (GP-21) ■ Specifications ■ Lens construction: 17 elements in 15 groups (2 SLD lenses, 3 aspherical lenses) Angle of view: 94.5° Number of aperture blades: 11 (circular aperture) Minimum aperture: F16 Short focusing distance: 23cm Maximum magnification ratio: 1:6.1 Filter size: φ82mm Maximum diameter x length: φ87.8mm x 111.2mm Weight: 635g Manufacturer's warranty period: 1 year
