The floating focus system, which is advantageous for improving close-up performance, enables stable, high-quality image creation across the entire focal length range, from the minimum focal length to infinity. The SIGMA 70-200mm F2.8 DG DN OS | Sports features a high-speed AF floating focus system with dual HLA. By moving two focus groups in opposite directions, the amount of focus lens movement is reduced by approximately half. Furthermore, each focus group employs a high-thrust HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) linear motor for high-speed AF. Not only is it fast and accurate, but its control program also ensures quiet operation, allowing for comfortable video recording without worrying about noise. The latest OS2 image stabilization algorithm delivers extremely high image stabilization performance, with 7.5 stops of compensation at the wide-angle end and 5.5 stops at the telephoto end. Two compensation modes are available: Image Stabilization Mode 1, which is suitable for general photography, and Image Stabilization Mode 2, which is ideal for panning shots of motorsports and other scenes. In Mode 2, the camera's dedicated algorithm and intelligent OS for panning effectively compensates for image stabilization, even when the camera is moved up, down, or diagonally, regardless of whether the shot is horizontal or vertical. This allows you to capture the movement of the subject without compromising the effect of panning.

Sports line-style weather resistance: The mount joint, manual ring, zoom ring, custom switches, and other operating switches, as well as the switch panel and exterior joints, feature a dust- and water-resistant construction* to prevent the intrusion of dust and debris.
