Unprecedented bokeh leads to new forms of expression. The greatest feature of the Sigma 135mm F1.4 DG | Art is the extremely large bokeh produced by its effective aperture. With a focal length of 135mm and a bright f/1.4 aperture, this lens surpasses the bokeh master Sigma 105mm f/1.4 DG HSM | Art and rivals the Sigma 200mm f/2 DG OS | Sports. The natural perspective and overwhelming bokeh of the 135mm lens accentuate the subject, enabling portraits with a three-dimensional quality that only this lens can deliver.
Optical design focused on bokeh reproduction: Thorough correction of chromatic aberration, a common occurrence in telephoto lenses, delivers clear bokeh without color bleeding. Furthermore, the design minimizes vignetting, producing natural, nearly circular bokeh even at the edges, enabling you to take full advantage of wide-open apertures.
Beautiful bokeh thanks to the culmination of Sigma's technology: 13 aperture blades maintain circular bokeh, and the pursuit of precision aspherical lens processing. The beautiful, natural bokeh is the result of Sigma's advanced design expertise, cultivated over many years of developing numerous f/1.4 prime lenses, and the processing technology of our Aizu factory. Vivid subject detail even at wide apertures. Four large FLD glass elements, along with glass elements with high anomalous dispersion, are strategically positioned to thoroughly correct axial chromatic aberration, a common problem with large-aperture telephoto lenses. Clear subject detail is captured even at wide apertures, taking full advantage of the extremely shallow depth of field unique to the 135mm f/1.4 lens. Floating Focus Mechanism: The floating focus mechanism independently controls the two focus lens groups, maintaining high resolution performance throughout the entire focus range. Dual HLA: The dual HLA employs two focus groups driven by linear motors (HLAs). By appropriately positioning the two HLAs, optimized for the amount of focus group movement, the lens delivers the high thrust required for a large-aperture telephoto lens while achieving high-speed, high-precision AF, reliably capturing fleeting changes in a subject's facial expression and moving scenes. Designed to minimize flare and ghosting: Cutting-edge simulation technology and a Super Multi-Layer Coating significantly reduce flare and ghosting. High backlight resistance ensures clear, sharp images in any lighting conditions. Equipped with a variety of shooting assist functions: Two AFL buttons, each assignable to a specific function. In addition to the aperture ring, the lens also features an aperture ring lock switch and a click switch that turns the click mechanism on and off. Dust- and splash-proof construction* and water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating: In addition to the dust- and splash-proof body, the front lens element is coated with a water-repellent and dirt-resistant coating, allowing for worry-free shooting even in harsh outdoor environments. *This construction is dust- and splash-proof, but not waterproof. When using near water, avoid contact with large amounts of water. Water entering the lens may cause malfunction. High-Quality Build Quality of the Art Line: To achieve both robustness to securely support the large-diameter lens optics and lightweight design for comfortable handling, metal parts such as aluminum and magnesium alloys, along with engineering plastics such as TSC, are used in appropriate locations. The Art Line boasts high rigidity and durability, and a build quality that will ensure long-term, reliable use as a photography tool. Standard Tripod Mount Ideal for Long-Term Photography and Studio Work: The included tripod mount is made of lightweight, highly rigid, Arca-Swiss compatible magnesium alloy. It provides excellent stability when using a tripod in the studio or for long shoots, supporting a shooting environment that allows you to concentrate on your creative expression. The tripod mount can also be removed and replaced with the included protective cover. Included Hood with Button Lock: A dedicated hood with a button lock mechanism allows for secure and stable attachment and detachment. Made of CFRP, a polycarbonate material containing carbon fiber, it combines lightness with high durability.
