The distinctive yellow Kiha 40 Hiroshima color is now available in 1/80 scale from TOMIX!
The Hiroshima color scheme, yellow and cream with a thin gray stripe, is reproduced as it was before the update.

Licensed for commercialization by JR West. The Kiha 40 series is a general-purpose diesel car of the Japanese National Railways that was introduced in 1977.
The Kiha 40-2000 series is a warm climate vehicle with a double cab, and was originally painted in a vermilion color known as the capital region color. However, from around 1992, the Hiroshima region vehicles were gradually changed to a yellow with cream and gray stripes.

The underfloor area is recreated with the original DMF15 engine and other equipment.
The jumper plug on the front can be installed as either a hose or a plug cover.
The front typhoon can be installed as either a shutter or slit type using the included parts.
The front display is interchangeable and comes with printed parts for "Regular (navy blue)" and "Rapid"
Side indicator lights are pre-installed with clear parts
Some notations are printed
Vehicle number, inspection marking, and affiliation marking are selectable and transfer sheets are included
Head and tail lights and front display have ON-OFF switches
The headlights are illuminated by warm white LEDs, the taillights by red LEDs, and the front display by white LEDs.
Equipped with a driver's cab interior light that lights up when rearward or between coupling surfaces
The driver's cab interior light can be turned on by switching the switch, even when the head and tail lights and front display are not turned on when the driver's cab is in the middle.
Self-locking TN coupler is standard equipment
