The bright F1.8 maximum aperture and circular aperture enable the unique background blur characteristic of a large-aperture prime lens. When mounted on a camera equipped with an APS-C image sensor, the focal length becomes a medium telephoto lens equivalent to 75mm in 35mm format, making it ideal for portraits.
