Great watch, containing (for me) the bare necessities for time keeping. Looking at it you would maybe not expect it contains solar cells, and that it keeps itself synchronized via radio. The hands are classically styled, which I like better than the design of the hands of most other watches from Casio. The fit and finish is surprisingly good, and the visibility of the dial is good. Changing the bracelet size took some work though (it was fun doing it, making me feel like a watch maker :) )

This watch is certainly a five star plus product. The accolades mentioned by the other purchasers certainly ring true. Oh yes, the watch face is quite intriguing the way it is designed. There are tiny blue cut crystals directly under the metal/luminous indices. Viewed directly from above they are not noticeable. Depending on the viewing angle due to the refraction of light through the sapphire some of these blue gems can be discreetly seen. The radio 'time check'feature works well for me being located in New Orleans, Louisiana. All said and done I am delighted with this watch.

Great simple 3 hander watch that has atomic feature. Just want to clarify the size. The 41.5mm diameter includes the crown. It is 39-40mm without and will fit smaller wrist size (even sub 6") due to the short lug to lug length. The blue accents are a nice touch, including the blue ring above the chapter ring. It feels very sturdy, although light due to the titanium. The crown is a push, not screw down. Integrated bracelet/case design so a normal strap won't fit without cutting the center out. The lume is blueish and fairly bright. The bracelet comes with 2 half links and the clasp has 2 spots for attaching the bracelet to (this is the micro adjustment). The links are secured with a roll and pin (the roll falls out easily when the pin isn't it in so be careful when sizing). I believe the links are solid (not hollow center). The clasp is a single deployant with dual push buttons. The radio sync doesn't know your timezone, so you need to set it to the correct timezone. The second hand looks on point for each mark, better than some quartz double this price range. There is a button at 2 o'clock that does not protrude pass the case and would not be needed for normal operations. It's for lining up the hands, date, changing to special time zones, turn on and off radio sync, etc etc). The button on the 4 o'clock is for manual sync and to check to see if see if it successfully synced last time. It is less than 10mm thick so will fit under any cuff without issues. This watch is perfect for traveling since all you have to do is pull the crown out and move it to the new timezone you're in. Even if you are unable to sync to the correct time for a month, it will probably still be correct to the minute.

Arrived from Japan in a week, considerably faster than the estimate. It tells time beautifully, elegantly, simply. The Oceanus is wearable art. One caveat: resizing the bracelet is not a trivial task, and I'm not sure that I'd entrust that to the corner jewelry shop. I was able to accomplish it in about 90 minutes using materials I found online--search for "Oceanus Bracelet adjustment reddit".

I had a Mavado and for half the price this watch is worth more then the Mavado! Looks great and a lot of compliments on it. They can't believe it's a Casio. Hope to never have to buy another watch again!

All in all, the watch performs and is exactly as advertised. I do believe it's a "bit" overpriced compared to similar brands with like functions. The watch arrived within ten days of its order (Japan to USA) The blue illuminating coatings on the five minute mark locations is a little too reflective in daylight hours and somewhat "cheapens" the watches appearance/quality. I'm afraid to ask what the cost of a replacement battery will "run" when this one dies. Only time will tell!

This is an excellent watch as jewelry goes. Band is awesome. Fits like a glove. Face is just plain beautiful. And it's a lot less pronounced than the Seiko titanium kinetic it replaced. It also syncs like clockwork every night with the radio time broadcast. And the perpetual calendar and automatic time zones are just crazy simple and unbelievably helpful. Fit and trim? That's awesome too. The second hand stops dead center on each tick and the hour and minute hands are equally well precise (things I'm very sensitive too). So why just three stars? Because it's so darn hard to tell the time. The crystal is highly reflective, so if there's any kind of light or well lit object bouncing off the surface, you have to stop and twist your wrist one way or the other to get an obstructed view of the watch face. Plus, there's some kind of secondary light blue reflection of the same objects that are offset from the primary reflection, and they add to the distraction. Without all the competing reflections the watch face is just great. So that's one star off. The other star deduction is for the date window. If you look straight at it, with sufficient light, it's fine. But the dial with the digits is recessed below the surface by enough distance that viewing angle is limited more than it should be. Plus, it's not as easy to read under some lighting situations. I think it would have been more readable with a background that matched the face and white lettering, instead of black lettering on a white background.Update 07/26/2017: 3/4 of a year later and have grown even more fond of this watch. I've gotten used to the (rather) reflective crystal, and now feel it actually adds to and enhances the "jewelry" element (which isn't necessarily one of my higher priorities, but still appreciated). So, I'm adding back the one star previously deducted for that.
