TAMIYA 1/700 U.S. Navy submarine Gato class/Japanese Navy No. 13 submarine chaser (set of 2 ships each).
[Pacific rival set]
Gato class submarine of the United States Navy, whose mass production began with the outbreak of the Pacific War. More than 200 ships were produced, and they continued to wreak havoc on Japanese maritime transport. In response, the Japanese Navy launched the No. 13 submersible tanker for submarine attack. This is a plastic model assembly kit that includes two ships each of these Pacific rivals. The Gato class submarine can be reproduced in various types by selecting the armament and periscope, and the bottom and screw parts are also included. On the other hand, Submarine No. 13 has precisely reproduced its depth charge projector, 80mm high-angle gun, and anti-aircraft machine gun. The set also includes two American B24 Liberator bombers that were active in attacking ships, so it will be interesting to compare their sizes.
