Please understand in advance. Jiro Miwa is a singer-songwriter who depicts the expressions of the city, the scenes that unfold in the city, and the voices and stories of the people who stand there, with boogie music. Four years after the release of his best-of album "Essentials of MIWA JIRO," which was only available on vinyl, Miwa Jiro's 5th album, "Mariad Baby," is his first original album in seven and a half years since "Shiawase no Minato" (2019). It will be released on ROSE RECORDS, the label run by Keiichi Sogabe. As with his previous work, this album was created with the help of Wataru Iga (bass) and Yuko Kitayama (drums), who perform live with him as part of the Miwa Jiro Band. This album pushes the collaboration with the two further, resulting in a work that pushes the band sound to its limits. Based on a variety of sounds including folk rock, swamp funk, garage rock and roll, and country, this is a masterpiece that expresses the bluesy lifestyle of Miwa in his hometown of Yokohama, and even his own vulnerabilities, as evergreen pop songs. It is different from so-called city pop, and it depicts both the charm and simplicity of urban life. (C)RS Recording Information 《1 disc, 11 tracks》 1. It's a beautiful day 2. And then 3.
