Suzu Toyama, a 20-year-old up-and-coming artist who performed at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL in 2024 at the age of 18 and served as the opening act for Mei Semones' Japan tour in January of this year, has released her album "Spin," which can be described as her "first work in which she has seriously confronted music," and it is now available for general distribution. Suzu Toyama, a 20-year-old up-and-coming artist born in 2006, went to England alone at the age of 10 and spent 8 years in a foreign country. Inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic, she picked up a guitar and began composing music, releasing two albums by the age of 16. In 2024, at the age of 18, she performed at the FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, and this January she served as the opening act for Mei Semones' Japan tour, making her one of the most noteworthy artists today. "Spin" can be described as her first work where she truly confronted music head-on. Centered around the electric guitar, it incorporates euphonium, triola, piano, bass, percussion, and vocals. Diverse layers of sound overlap, reflecting her inner self. Her self-taught songwriting style is endlessly free and unique. It combines organic warmth and beauty while simultaneously harboring a quietly simmering passion. Particularly noteworthy is her singing voice. Her smoky yet strong vocals are reminiscent of Rickie Lee Jones and Laura Nyro. This album is a direct confrontation of sound by a "naturally expressive artist." It is music, poetry, and a tactile work of art. This album represents the current state of Suzu Toyama as an artist, where she has found a central axis in the field of music. Her extremely intuitive "now" is spun and etched into this single album, making it a fresh starting point for her career. Track Listing 1. From The Stars 2. In Your Eyes 3. I Don't Know 4. Dawn 5.
