WAKE&SOUND Surface-Fighting Appealing Shallow Runner
■"Missed bites" are a common occurrence in surface fishing. Reducing them was the primary goal, and the development theme for the Spank Walker was "how to elicit more bites?" As a countermeasure against missed bites, the question was "how to bring the rod tip closer to the water's surface?" However, it was assumed that this was a wakebait designed for the surface, so it was important to suppress diving and maintain its presence on the trace course for as long as possible, even if only 0.1 seconds longer. To achieve this, a high-float body that provides reliable resistance and an independent lip were chosen. Furthermore, by combining this with a slightly unusual internal structure, it was possible to create a mechanism that produces precise high-pitch action at dead slow speeds and a one-knock metronome sound.■With its relatively large form of 133mm and 40g, it has strong appeal, making it a wakebait suitable for the larger autumn juvenile fish, from juvenile mullet to gizzard shad and sandfish patterns.
