Please understand in advance. A contemporary shoegaze that sways between roaring noise and silence, intimate and ephemeral. A beautiful introspective album that resonates with current indie music, permeating with the lingering echoes of emo. Appi's second album, "Red Comb," from a solo project based in Kyoto, is rooted in shoegaze/dream pop, subtly infused with emo-derived introspection, making it a work that is firmly rooted in the current indie scene. What is striking here is the shift towards "intimacy" and "resonance," with reverb-filled guitars and soft synths layering on top of each other to create spatial depth. Even the so-called shoegaze-like wall of sound is depicted with a fine, misty texture, allowing each element to organically emerge without being buried. Within this, the guitar bursts subtly at moments that touch on the emotional critical point, creating definite fluctuations within the restrained dynamics. This sense of balance is what gives the work a strength that transcends mere genre boundaries. (C)RS Recording Information《1 disc, 10 tracks》1. Kitschy 2. Ukiyo 3. Fixer 4. Sui men ka (album ver) 5.
