This model features the HC603 train set from the Hineno branch of the Suita General Rolling Stock Center, which has been given the second phase of its 60th anniversary commemorative wrapping. The wave design around the headlights extending from the front to the sides of both leading cars, the limited express mark on the front, and the headmark are beautifully reproduced. The rounded front shape and distinctive head/tail lights are reproduced. The lightning arrester is a new type that has been seen on JR West vehicles in recent years. A slotless motor is used to achieve smooth and quiet running performance. The leading cars use KATO coupler close-coupling type (without hooks) at the front. Electrical connector parts (1 stage) are included. The intermediate couplings use body-mounted close-coupling type couplers (with hooks). Head/tail lights illuminate. Kumoha 287-16 has an on/off switch. The headlights above the driver's cab light up in white and destination display stickers are included ("Kyoto", "Shin-Osaka", "Wakayama", "Shirahama", "Shingu", "Nara"). DCC friendly. In 2025, the limited express "Kuroshio" will celebrate its 60th anniversary since its launch. To commemorate this, a special 60th-anniversaryラッピング (wrapping) train set will begin operation in July of the same year. The first design is based on the 381 series "Super Kuroshio" that had been in operation since 1989. In August of the same year, the second design will also be introduced, featuring a wave-inspired wrapping from the front to the sides. The first design is scheduled to run until February 2026, and the second design until November 2028.
