The N700S is a new type of train for the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen line that began operation in 2020 and was developed based on the conventional N700 series.

This four-car add-on set is currently undergoing approval by JR Central.
Cars 3, 10, and 11 feature newly manufactured bodywork with window layout changes from the test cars.
The car numbers and warning signs on the roof are pre-printed.
The test cars were introduced in March 2018 and underwent various tests.
Production cars based on the test cars were manufactured and began operating primarily on the Nozomi service in July 2020.The production cars feature changes to the bogie covers and antenna design of the lead cars.
The "N700 Supreme" logo is pre-printed.
The JR mark, Green Car mark, car number (car body),
and no-smoking sign are pre-printed.
The basic set includes pre-printed car numbers (J1 formation).
Add-on sets A and B include car number and upgrade transfer sheets.
Car numbers are included, including those for upgrading the basic set.
The lead cars are equipped with a circuit board for constantly lighting head and tail lights.
The lead car's headlights are illuminated by white LEDs.
Color seats are used.
The top canopy is movable.
Hooks and U-shaped conductive couplers are used.
Features a new current collection system and silver wheels.
Uses a flywheel-equipped power source and M-13 motor.
