ORIGIN EFFECTS went to great lengths to accurately recreate the legendary mid-forward voicing and the now-unavailable characteristics of the vintage diode, but we've also incorporated some innovative features that go beyond the original's capabilities. ADAPT Switch: One of the Halcyon Gold Overdrive's secrets is the ADAPT switch. Activating this feature gradually fades out the mid-frequency voicing as you turn down the guitar's volume and transition to a clean sound. This means you get that classic Klon® tone, while still being able to clearly express your guitar's inherent clean tone with the guitar's volume knob. DRY Control: The DRY control adjusts the level of the dry signal, which is part of this classic drive tone. When boosting a low-gain amp sound, you can increase the dry signal level to add body and definition, or reduce the dry signal level to maximize the high-gain tone of a clean amp. This DRY path has been improved to change the overload characteristic, allowing access to a wider variety of drive flavors when used with other drive pedals. VOICE Switch: The VOICE switch lets you choose between the classic Klon® mid-forward voicing and a smoother, more balanced MOD sound. The KLN setting is the standard voicing, while the MOD setting has a wider mid-hump and a softer, more compressed clipping characteristic. The MOD setting is particularly well-suited for use with single-coil pickups and when combining clean amp sounds with high-gain tones.
