G-SHOCK, the tough watch that has continued to evolve in pursuit of unrelenting strength since its launch in 1983, introduces this model, inspired by the popular work of Katsushika Hokusai, an ukiyo-e artist active during the Edo period and widely known both in Japan and abroad.
This model features "White Rain Under the Mountains," one of Hokusai's masterpieces, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.
The base model is the iconic, standard digital DW-5600, and the dial boldly features "White Rain Under the Mountains.
" When the LED backlight is lit, it blends in with the dial to express the work's grandeur.
The case back is engraved with the kanji characters "Japan.
" The watch is also made in Japan, a reference to the country where ukiyo-e originated.
