Since its launch in 1983, G-SHOCK, the tough watch that has continued to evolve in pursuit of unrelenting strength, has released this new model, featuring a popular work by Katsushika Hokusai, an ukiyo-e artist active during the Edo period and widely known both in Japan and abroad.
This model features "Under the Mannen Bridge at Fukagawa," one of Hokusai's masterpieces, Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji.
The base model is the iconic, standard digital DW-5600, and the dial boldly features "Under the Mannen Bridge at Fukagawa".
When the LED backlight is lit, it blends in with the dial to express the beautiful curves of the bridge.
The case back is engraved with the kanji characters "Japan".
The watch is also made in Japan, a reference to the origins of ukiyo-e, which originated in Japan.
The packaging is also specially designed to appeal globally.
