Description (655 characters)
This ceramics series is from Mukaiyama Kiln, the largest kiln in the Kasama ware production area. This palm-sized coffee cup and saucer are inspired by canelés, a baked confectionery from the Bordeaux region of France, whose name means "grooved." They are perfect for offering at the Buddhist altar or discreetly placing next to a photograph. The design, created using the traditional Japanese technique of "shinogi," in which each piece is individually carved with a spatula to create ridges, creates a three-dimensional design reminiscent of a beloved dish. Choose from two colors, "bitter" and "milk," to complement both traditional and modern styles.
