Description (1,073 characters)
This is a Buddhist name scroll on which the deceased's posthumous name is written. In Jodo Shinshu sects, memorial tablets are not officially used; instead, the Buddhist name scroll is hung on the side of the altar interior and enshrined. The Buddhist name scroll bears the date of death and the deceased's posthumous name (known as a posthumous name in other sects). The subdued, chic image and mounting complement any Buddhist altar design, offering a unique charm unlike the more ornate mountings of hanging scrolls. Crafted in Gifu Prefecture, a major hanging scroll production area. *Hanging scroll stand sold separately* [Material] Paper; Country of Origin: Japan [Product Dimensions] Height (excluding top string): 20.8 cm; Width of shaft tip (bottom rod): 10.7 cm; Width of hanging scroll: 8.3 cm [Care Instructions] Gently dust with a soft-bristled brush or brush, or a soft, dry cloth. Using a wet cloth may cause discoloration. Please handle with care to avoid folding or rolling the scroll (creases and creases may remain). *The scroll stand is sold separately.
