The hanging scroll, Joshinkin, is a Japanese-made scroll. It features a honshi (paper depicting a Buddha) pasted on thick cardboard and framed in red and purple cloth. Each scroll is handmade in Kyoto. The combination of the principal image and the two attendant deities varies by sect, so each scroll is enshrined with the appropriate principal image and the accompanying attendant deities. The principal image of the Shingon sect is Dainichi Nyorai.
