This hanging scroll features an original Hasegawa design, depicting Amida Buddha, the principal image of the Otani branch of Shinshu Buddhism. The principal image is the Buddha that each sect considers most ideal, and a pictorial representation of the Buddha is called a picture image. It is usually hung on the top shelf in the center of the Buddhist altar for worship. The vibrant silkscreened main paper (the image portion) is hand-mounted with multiple layers of fabric, creating a professional mounting.
