This hanging scroll depicts Manjusri Bodhisattva, a side Buddha of the Rinzai sect. Manjusri Bodhisattva is the Buddha of wisdom (two heads are better than one), and is usually enshrined on the right side of the upper shelf of the Buddhist altar. The subdued, chic image and mounting blend in with any altar design. It offers a unique charm that is different from hanging scrolls with more ornate mountings.
