This hanging scroll depicts Master Zendo, a side Buddha of the Jodo sect. Master Zendo was a Chinese monk who preached the teachings that form the foundation of the Jodo sect. He is usually enshrined on the right side of the upper shelf of the Buddhist altar. The subdued, chic image and mounting complement any altar design, creating a unique atmosphere unlike hanging scrolls with more ornate mountings.
