     Description (984 characters)
This statue of Shaka Nyorai (Shakyamuni Buddha) is worshipped as the principal image in Zen Buddhism (Soto, Rinzai, etc.). It is crafted from durable, beautiful boxwood. One of the requirements for a Buddha statue is a smooth, lustrous surface, making boxwood an ideal material for Buddhist statues. The eyes of the statue's face are crafted using a modern technique dating back to the late Heian period, in which glass beads are embedded. The principal image is the Buddha that each sect considers ideal, and Buddhist statues are created as a representation of Buddhist teachings. It is enshrined on the top shelf in the center of the altar, where the Buddha watches over us from the highest point. While some machines are used in the production of Buddhist statues, most are handcrafted by artisans. As a result, each statue is unique. [Material] Boxwood [Product Dimensions (cm)] Height: 26, Width: 12.1, Depth: 10.5 [Outer Box Dimensions (cm)] Height: 13.5, Width: 15.5, Depth: 19
