Director Matsui Daigo, who previously worked with pre-celebrity Masaki Suda, Ryo Yoshizawa, and Taiga Nakano on "Daily Lives of High School Boys" (2013) and has since released a string of highly original works, including "Haruko Azumi Is Missing" (2016) and "You Are You, You Are You" (2018), has adapted this original stage play, based on his own experiences, into a film. Starring Ryo Narita, Kengo Kora, Tatsuya Wakaba, Kenta Hamano, Kisetsu Fujiwara, and Tatsuki Meji, the film brings together a talented and unique cast of actors. Other cast members include Atsuko Maeda, Yu Shirota, Marie Iitoyo, Rio Uchida, Yoshihi Kobayashi, Takuki Tsuzuki (Yonsen Toushin), Kenichi Takito, Yoshimasa Kondo, Ryo Iwamatsu, and Papaya Suzuki. Six friends who used to hang out together in the after-school club in high school reunite for the first time in five years to perform at a friend's wedding reception. After performing an embarrassing sideshow, the boys spend the oddly long time between the wedding reception and the after-party reminiscing about their high school days. They believe they are still friends and that their relationship will always remain that way, but... This hilarious and moving youth drama is enhanced by the gentle and emotional music of Mori Yuta, who has worked on director Matsui's "Daily Lives of a Boys' High School" and stage music. Also included are Ulfuls' "Sore ga Kotae da!", which is used in the scene in the film where the six perform a dance with red droppings, and "Elephants are Mouse-Colored," written specifically for the film by Tortoise Matsumoto!
