Its sound quality is modeled after the MKH 416, the standard in broadcast and film, capturing the essence of voices. Dual-Powered: 48V Phantom Power or AA Batteries (Sold Separately) The AK4100 supports both 48V phantom power and AA batteries, allowing it to be easily connected to mixers and camcorders that can supply 48V, as well as digital SLR cameras using the optional cable (KA 600, sold separately). Challenging Noise: Circuit design and component selection achieve an incredibly low self-noise ratio, contributing to the overwhelming dynamic range that is key to the audio's realism. To combat external noise, the included microphone holder "MZS 600" uses high-quality rubber cushions to dramatically reduce vibrations transmitted from the camera, such as lens drive noise. The built-in switchable low-cut filter also suppresses low-frequency noise, such as wind noise and handling noise. While the included foam windscreen can be used for even better wind protection, we recommend using the optional fur windscreen (MZH 600, sold separately) for windy outdoor use.
