The AWB algorithm has been improved to ensure clear color reproduction even in difficult conditions, such as mixed lighting, allowing you to capture images with appropriate color tones under a variety of light sources. The camera also features powerful in-body 5-axis image stabilization, providing the world's highest level of compensation, up to 8.5 stops. 5-axis sync image stabilization also provides up to 8.5 stops, further expanding the scope of handheld shooting while taking advantage of portability. AI Subject Recognition AF utilizes the high-speed calculations of the TruePic X image processing engine to detect subject movement in real time and track moving subjects across the frame, even without missing them. It can track things like driver helmets and the eyes of birds and animals, which are difficult to track with human operation. Up to eight people and animals can be detected, and you can select which targets to track, providing greater freedom in your composition. Operation has also been further improved, with quick settings for detected subjects on the Super Control Panel allowing for stress-free shooting. The expanded memory significantly increases the number of continuous shots possible and improves high-speed shooting capabilities. Pro Capture starts recording with the first release and records from the second release, ensuring you capture moments you might miss due to human reaction time lag. High-speed continuous shooting is possible at up to approximately 120 frames per second with AF/AE fixed, and approximately 50 frames per second with AF/AE tracking, ensuring you can capture fast-moving moments. The OM SYSTEM OM-1 Mark II's expanded buffer memory increases the number of frames possible in Pro Capture mode to approximately 99 (compared to 70 frames on the OM SYSTEM OM-1).
