The "OM-3" is a successor to the classic film SLR camera "OLYMPUS Inheriting the design philosophy of the OM-1, the OM-1 boasts a refined and beautiful design, including the distinctive pentaprism, delta cuts on both sides of the camera body, and the dial shape on the top of the camera body, along with excellent operability and a high-quality feel that will satisfy your desire to own it. It stimulates the senses and enhances its appeal as a tool for outdoor adventures. It also boasts the high performance inherited from flagship models that meets the demands of photographers who are particular about the expression of their photographs and videos. Features include Color/Monochrome Profile Control, which lets you enjoy shooting just like selecting your favorite film, a Creative Dial that controls Art Filters and Color Creator, a CP (Computational Photography) button that activates the Computational Photography function, and a Still/Video/S&Q Dial, allowing intuitive operation of a wide range of shooting functions. The TruePic X image processing engine and a back-illuminated stacked Live MOS sensor with an effective pixel count of approximately 20.37 million pixels fully utilize the performance of the high-resolution M.ZUIKO DIGITAL lens, achieving image quality beyond what you would expect from the sensor size. The camera features an in-body 5-axis image stabilization mechanism that compensates for camera shake with all compatible lenses, providing up to 6.5 stops of compensation in the center and 5.5 stops at the periphery. When paired with a compatible lens, it also supports Sync Image Stabilization, providing even more powerful compensation of 7.5 stops in the center and 6.5 stops at the periphery. The magnesium alloy body is also sealed in strategic locations, providing a dust- and weather-resistant design* (IP53 rating) and low-temperature resistance down to -10°C. This means you can carry it with confidence, even in sudden changes in weather, and capture every moving moment, from everyday use to travel. *When using a lens with the appropriate dust- and weather-resistant rating (according to the lens specifications).
Color/Monochrome Profile Control reproduces the unique characteristics of film. Just as you can enjoy the different results of choosing between color and monochrome film, you can enjoy shooting by selecting distinctive presets. Furthermore, you can adjust the image while viewing the effect in the viewfinder during shooting to create your own unique expression. The front of the camera features a Creative Dial that allows one-touch access to this function without holding the camera. Computational Photography: A New Form of Photography Utilizing Digital Technology The OM-3 features a Computational Photography function that processes compositing techniques, previously achieved through post-processing on a PC, in-camera. Simply taking a photo with the camera unlocks new photographic expression utilizing the latest digital technology. To make this function easy to use and enjoy, a new Computational Photography (CP) button has been added that accesses various Computational Photography functions. By holding down the CP button and turning the Control Dial, you can switch to the following shooting functions: Tripod High Res Shot, Handheld High Res Shot, Live ND Shooting (ND2-64), Live GND Shooting (GND2-8), Depth Stacking, HDR Shooting (HDR1-2), and Multiple Exposure Shooting. Video Shooting Functions for Delivering the Perfect Expression: The OM-3 provides a compact video shooting system, even when connected to an external monitor or other equipment. It is resistant to heat generation during shooting, allowing approximately 30 minutes of video recording even at an ambient temperature of 40°C. At an ambient temperature of 25°C, you can shoot without worrying about thermal shutdown. New features include a "Still Image/Video/S&Q (Still Image/Video/Slow & Quick) Dial" and a "Creative Dial," making it easier to achieve a variety of shooting styles. Additionally, new dedicated video picture modes, OM-Cinema1 and OM-Cinema2, are available to easily capture cinematic-style footage.
