It also suppresses noise at high ISO sensitivity, resulting in clear, high-resolution images. The newly equipped "visible light + IR sensor" also improves AWB performance for video recording, enabling more accurate white balance even under artificial light sources such as fluorescent and LED, which are usually difficult to achieve. The newly developed CMOS sensor and new image processing engine significantly reduce motion distortion when shooting in 4K. The α7S series is the first to feature Fast Hybrid AF*, which quickly captures and tenaciously tracks subjects. This is the first time the α7S series has featured Fast Hybrid AF*, combining phase-detection AF and contrast-detection AF. In all video recording modes, including 4K 120p, it maintains precise and smooth focus over a wide area, even on fast-moving subjects with a shallow depth of field. The α7S series is the first to feature on-chip phase-detection AF. This is the first* model in the α7S series to feature high-speed, high-precision on-chip phase-detection AF. Furthermore, combined with an improved image processing engine, this model features a high-density array of 759 selectable phase-detection AF points across almost the entire image sensor (approximately 92%), exceeding the 693 points of the α9/α9 II. The image processing engine, with its superior real-time processing capabilities, powerfully processes vast amounts of subject information from a wide range of subjects, analyzing them with high precision and density. The Fast Hybrid AF system combines phase-detection AF, which boasts excellent speed and tracking, with high-precision contrast-detection AF, enabling it to quickly capture and tenaciously track even complex and fast-moving subjects.
