High shooting performance achieved by the world's first partially stacked CMOS sensorUses the world's first partially stacked CMOS sensor, with numerous high-speed processing circuits placed in the upper and lower layers of the image sensor. This new sensor's high-speed readout, combined with the same high-speed image processing engine EXPEED 7 as the Z9 and Z8, enables Pre-Capture recording up to one second prior to the full shutter button press, enabling shooting at up to 120 frames per second (C120). At 60 frames per second (C60), full-frame shooting at approximately 24 megapixels is possible, higher than the Z9 and Z8. Furthermore, high-speed continuous shooting at 20 frames per second reduces EVF display jumps, allowing for smoother subject movement. This makes it easier to capture decisive moments, such as running wild animals or flying birds. *Shooting is only available in JPEG format. 6K Video Recording for Greater Video Production The new CMOS sensor with high-speed readout enables internal recording of 12-bit 6K N-RAW/ProRes RAW HQ, which can also be used flexibly for 4K video production, and recording of 10-bit 5.4K ProRes 422/H.265 video. When creating 4K videos or the increasingly popular Full HD vertical video format for smartphones, editing flexibility is enhanced with features like trimming, zooming, tracking, and image stabilization. 4K UHD oversampling* from 6K enables high-resolution video creation. Despite its compact body, the camera's efficient heat dissipation design and power-saving features allow for up to 125 minutes of 4K UHD/60p video recording. Furthermore, 10-bit Full HD/240p H.265 recording is possible, enabling impressive slow-motion video production at up to 10x the original resolution. Immerse yourself in your photography with this high-brightness, high-resolution, and wide-color-gamut EVF. The EVF boasts the highest brightness in mirrorless camera history, surpassing the Z9 and Z8, at 4000 cd/m². It delivers a clear viewfinder image with minimal shadow crush, even in extremely bright outdoor scenes. It achieves Nikon's highest resolution of 5.76 million dots and is the first mirrorless camera to cover a color gamut equivalent to the DCI-P3 standard for digital cinema. This allows for high-resolution subject visibility right to the edges of the image, while reducing color saturation, often seen in red flowers, and enhancing the brightness of bright subjects such as illumination when shooting with HLG. Performance, reliability, and operability inherited from higher-end models: The combination of a partially stacked CMOS sensor and the same high-speed EXPEED7 image processing engine as the flagship model delivers a faster AF calculation cycle. It also supports nine types of subject detection, including an Airplane mode. The low-light AF detection range has also been expanded to -10EV, exceeding that of the Z9 and Z8, making it easier to focus in darker scenes and expanding the range of shooting scenes. The Z6III offers the same robustness and reliability as the Z8, with features like a VR lock mechanism to protect the image sensor from unexpected vibrations during transport and cold-weather resistance down to -10°C, supporting shooting in a variety of environments. It also inherits the extensive custom settings and dial position controls, as well as portrait shooting functions like Rich Tone Portrait, Skin Smoothing, and Portrait Adjustment from the Z9 and Z8. New features further expand the scope of imaging expression: The Z6III now supports the Flexible Color Picture Control, which allows for more personalized and free-flowing image creation using Nikon's PC viewing, development, and editing software, NX Studio. Features include a Color Blender that controls hue, saturation, and brightness for each color, and Color Grading that adjusts the hue, saturation, and brightness for each brightness level, allowing you to intuitively adjust the colors you want to express. Settings created in NXStudio can be exported as custom Picture Controls and registered on the Z6III for use whenever shooting. These settings are also reflected in Live View during shooting, allowing you to visualize the final result while shooting. Furthermore, the new Nikon Imaging Cloud service offers imaging recipes, custom Picture Controls recommended by Nikon and curated by renowned creators. Up to nine recipes can be sent to the Z6III via Wi-Fi, allowing users to easily try out new creative expressions, including those inspired by their favorite creators, further expanding the enjoyment of visual expression. In addition, collaboration with Nikon Imaging Cloud allows users to update the Z6III firmware without using a computer or smartphone, and automatically transfers captured images when the Z6III is connected to Wi-Fi. Images can be automatically transferred to an external storage service with pre-set settings, making saving and sharing images more convenient. *Automatic video transfer is not supported.
