This high-performance Zeiss Sonnar T* lens is compact enough to carry with your α7R or α7 camera equipped with a 35mm full-frame sensor. The new optical design achieves the bright f/2.8 maximum aperture characteristic of Sonnar, derived from the German word sonne, meaning sun. Three aspherical lens elements effectively compensate for various aberrations. It maintains high contrast at all apertures and excellent resolution even at the edges of the frame, all while achieving a compact size. Furthermore, the T* (T-Star) Coating ensures excellent color reproduction, while the linear motor and internal focusing system enable smooth, fast, and quiet focusing.
