Inheriting the philosophy of previous 90mm macros and superior optical performance. Previous 90mm macro lenses have been highly praised for their high resolution and beautiful bokeh. To ensure that this philosophy can be enjoyed with mirrorless cameras, the new 90mm F2.8 MACRO underwent thorough optical simulation. It delivers soft, melting bokeh, three-dimensional rendering that highlights the subject, and uncompromising resolution from center to corners. The lens construction is 15 elements in 12 groups. Four LD (Low Dispersion) lens elements made of special glass thoroughly minimize light dispersion and effectively correct axial and lateral chromatic aberrations. In addition, BBAR-G2 (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection Generation 2) coating suppresses ghosting and flare, producing clear, sharp images that precisely capture subject details, even in backlit conditions. This outstanding optical performance allows you to enjoy exceptional photographic expression in a wide range of scenes, from macro photography to portraits, tabletop photography, and long-distance photography. Tamron's first 12-blade circular diaphragm delivers beautiful bokeh and streaks of light. The 90mm f/2.8 MACRO lens employs Tamron's first 12-blade circular diaphragm to achieve the ultimate in bokeh (circular bokeh). This design ensures perfectly circular bokeh at maximum aperture, especially in the macro range (maximum magnification ratios of 1:1 to 1:4). Vignetting is also minimized all the way to the edges of the frame. Furthermore, the lens's all-spherical lens construction allows you to fully enjoy beautiful bokeh. Additionally, the 12-blade design allows for clear, clear light effects when stopped down. Enjoy dramatic image creation without obscuring the subject, even in locations with numerous light sources, such as factory night scenes or illuminations.
Achieves a compact size of 126.5mm* in length: The 90mm F2.8 MACRO is a mid-telephoto macro lens with an F2.8 aperture, yet boasts a length of 126.5mm. With a maximum diameter of 79.2mm, it fits comfortably in the palm of your hand, making it easy to hold and convenient for field use. Its lightweight weight of 630g makes it comfortable even during extended handheld shooting. *Length and weight are for Sony E-mount lenses.
Features a new hood with a window for easy rotatable filter operation: The 90mm F2.8 MACRO features a new hood with a sliding window for easy filter operation. Rotating filters such as PL, ND, and cross filters require you to rotate them to adjust their effect, but this can be a hassle because you have to remove the hood each time. To eliminate this hassle, the lens features a window that allows you to rotate and adjust the filter. This allows you to precisely control shooting conditions without losing rhythm, regardless of the type of shooting.
Compatible with Tamron's proprietary TAMRON Lens Utility software, which expands the possibilities of photography and videography.
High-speed, high-precision AF VXD linear motor focus mechanism ensures you never miss a decisive moment.
High convenience and operability: The full-frame mirrorless series has a standard φ67mm filter diameter. A focus set button that can be assigned to various functions from the camera and TAMRON Lens Utility. A focus limiter switch is included for fast AF focusing and quick refocusing when the subject is out of focus. A carefully designed torque for comfortable MF operation. A lens design that takes convenience and operability into consideration.
Simple weather-resistant construction and Fluorine-resistant coating support comfortable shooting. [Accessories] - Round hood (with rotating filter window) - Front cap - Rear cap ■ Specifications ■
