Thanks to its advanced optical design, it covers the standard telephoto range of 84mm at the wide-angle end to 305mm at the telephoto end in one lens, while achieving a bright maximum aperture of F3.5-4.8. Its compact and lightweight 62mm filter diameter and weight of approximately 580g combine to deliver high levels of mobility and image quality. Equipped with an image stabilization mechanism equivalent to 4.5 shutter speed stops, it detects a wide range of blur, from gentle low-frequency to subtle high-frequency blur, providing high-performance compensation. Two linear motors enable high-speed AF at up to 0.28 seconds, while remaining quiet and ideal for video recording. Two ED lens elements, including one "Super ED lens" with superior optical performance comparable to fluorite lenses, effectively correct chromatic aberrations that tend to occur in the hyper-focus range, delivering high-resolution images from edge to edge across the entire zoom range. Fujinon's proprietary multi-layer coating "HT-EBC (High-Transmittance EBC)" is applied to both sides of all lens elements for superior anti-reflection performance and reduced flare and ghosting. A minimum focusing distance of 1.1 meters across the entire zoom range allows for close-up shots, capturing a close-up of the subject, a feat only possible with a telephoto lens.
