The widest prime lens in the XF lens series. This prime lens boasts a focal length of 8mm (equivalent to 12mm in 35mm format), making it the widest XF lens. With a diagonal angle of view of approximately 121 degrees, it enables ultra-wide-angle shooting. It's ideal for capturing scenes packed with information, such as spectacular natural landscapes. Features a lens design of 12 elements in 9 groups, including three aspherical lenses and two ED lenses. This lens delivers high resolution performance by suppressing distortion, spherical aberration, and astigmatism. It captures every detail of a wide-angle subject, from the foliage of a natural landscape to the intricate ornamentation of a majestic cathedral, in exceptionally high definition. Furthermore, by taking advantage of the deep depth of field inherent to wide-angle lenses and narrowing the aperture, pan-focusing is possible. It employs an inner focusing system that drives the middle lens element to focus. Furthermore, the short focus lens movement distance of a wide-angle lens enables high-speed AF of approximately 0.02 seconds. It is extremely effective for dynamic sports photography, taking advantage of the ultra-wide angle of view.
