Superior image quality: Compatible with high-resolution image sensors, the new optical system is comprised of 17 elements in 12 groups, including three extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements, one anomalous dispersion glass aspherical lens, and three aspherical lenses. While ensuring sufficient peripheral illumination, the lens achieves high MTF by minimizing aberrations, enabling precise depiction with enhanced contrast and resolution from center to periphery. Furthermore, when mounted on a current PENTAX K-series digital SLR camera, only the center of the image circle is used, allowing for more consistent, high-resolution imaging across the entire frame.
Large-aperture standard zoom lens: When mounted on a 35mm full-frame digital SLR camera, this standard zoom lens offers approximately 2.9x magnification, covering focal lengths from 24-70mm, from ultra-wide to standard. With a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8 throughout the zoom range, this is the most frequently used focal range for general photography. It also offers the distinctive effects of wide-angle photography, such as enhanced perspective and deep depth of field, making it suitable for expansive landscapes and narrow indoor scenes.
